Welcome to Wayward Bound, the place to go for all things travel.

My name is Libby Vertz. I grew up in Wisconsin, loving the outdoors and exploring my home state. However, I was fortunate enough to be able to travel with my family as well, starting at a young age. We traveled to Florida, the East Coast, and the Caribbean. Even as a kid, I was completely hooked.Libby Vertz

In high school and college, I studied art, music, and language, including Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. I traveled to New York, California, and the South, and in my junior year of college, I began this blog as a way to share the adventures I had with family, friends, and the Internet.

Two years later, after graduating a proud Badger from UW-Madison, I moved to Washington, DC. I worked in the hospitality industry for two years, then moved on to my current job. I have fallen in love with the city, and continue to enjoy finding the best music, food, and art the city has to offer, which seem endless.

While my professional life has taken me in a different direction from the travel industry, I still enjoy working on the blog in my down time, and will keep it going in the future, especially as I travel more and more in my free time and for work.

So, take a look around! And welcome to the blog dedicated to the pursuit of adventures and getaways. Wayward Bound is the place for all those who wish they could go somewhere but can’t, who want ideas for where to go next, or who just want to enjoy some armchair travel.

  1. I stumbled upon your name in a tweet from Doug RIchards I think … sometimes it’s hard to recall the trail. Anyway it’s great what you’re doing and I hope it becomes a big success for you. All the best. Kath
